Guild of Master Groomers

Sophie is a fully qualified groomer with a Higher Diploma in dog grooming.

She holds a few titles : GMG – Guild of Master Groomers, LCGI – Licentiateship, Leadership and Management, ICMG – International certified Master Groomer and City & Guilds Level 4. With many years of practical experience and a real zest for continual study and involvement within the grooming industry this allows her to stay right up to date with the latest industry trends, equipment and techniques.

Sophie won Best in Show at Master Groom 2015 and at Great British Grooming show 2021, Best all round groomer at Groomland 2016 and Reserve best in show  at Groomland 2016.

Originally from Slovakia, Sophie has always loved dogs and has developed her passion for grooming into a highly respected business. Sophie started professional dog grooming at Dapper Dog, which was established in 2004. It all started with Sophie’s first Airedale Terrier who was a real champion at all the dog shows, training clubs and grooming events. The quality of Sophie’s work and natural flair for grooming soon got friends and family asking Sophie to groom their own dogs which, with hindsight, has provided the invaluable practical experience of grooming many different breeds and coat types.

Sophie continues to show her dogs, Gina – a white standard Poodle and Dora – an Airedale Terrier, at national and international shows and has won numerous awards and is a highly respected participant at all events.

Sophie has now built up a regular and very loyal customer family, providing a positive and rewarding experience for both pet and owner. Sophie happily takes time to share her knowledge, tips and advice to help her clients get the most satisfaction and take the best care of their pets’ appearance.
